Chaney went home with Granny for a few days so Mom and Dad could recover and spend some time with Miss Keaton. Apparently they have been spending quite a bit of time outside.(the new yellow t-shirt was a gift from cousin Missy-thanks Miss!)

She's making the rounds on her Southwest Missouri tour...Great Granny B and Great Grandpa came over today to stay with her for a while so Granny could go into the office for a bit. And then tomorrow she leaves for a few days on the farm. Grandpa Luna has asked twice if we have "creek shoes" for her so it sounds like they have plans for a big weekend. (It will probably take her a week to recover once she finally makes it back home!)


Meanwhile, back at home there has been a lot of sitting around staring at Keaton...

Settling In...

We brought Keaton home on Sunday and she has already settled right in. She's doing great and Chaney seems to only mildly be aware of the new little girl in the house. We had a bit of a sleepless night our first night, but nothing more than to be expected. All in all we have been blessed by another healthy and happy baby girl.

Keaton Finley Werner

So here we are! Keaton Finley Werner was born yesterday at 2:03 p.m. weighing in at 8.9lbs and measuring 22 inches long. (Actually a bit longer and thinner than Chaney which really surprised me, we thought for sure she was going to tip the scales closer to 9lbs!) And check out all that thick dark hair, wonder if she'll keep it or lose it and turn blond like her sissy...

Everyone is doing great...actually fantastic. She slept 5 hours straight last night. That's more consecutive hours of sleep than I've gotten in the last few weeks! (Wish I could say the same for Daddy,I think he had a rough night on the little couch in our room...)

At any rate, we are settled in and will be hanging out here at Missouri Baptist Hospital until Sunday...more to come...

24 hours!

Well we are officially ready...both pjw and I have had hair cuts, cleaning ladies have been here, I met Anne on Friday for a last minute mani/pedi...everything on the list has been checked off! I even got some last minute work done this afternoon. (In fact I think even Chaney is preparing herself, she slept till almost 9:00 this morning! Its like she knows uninterrupted sleep is going to be hard to come by soon)

Nothing left to but watch National Lampoon's Vacation and dream about the Werner's future road trips to Wally World.

One Week!

We had our last official doctor's appointment yesterday-next one will be on the 23rd and we will be leaving that appointment with Miss Keaton in tow!

And of course I was convinced she would be here by now, but I'm going to go ahead and call it for next Wendesday. HOWEVER, I have scheduled a hair appointment, a mani/pedi date with Anne and cleaning ladies all over the next few days so it wouldn't surprise me at all if she decides to make a liar out of me...again...

Dr. Phillpot said everything looks good; well he said that after he said "my goodness thats an active baby!". (I've been hooking up to the monitor before my appointments over the last few weeks and have been able to share with everyone via the squiggly lines on paper the craziness I've been feeling the last month or so...strangely satitsfying in a "I told you so" kind of way...)

Busy Weekend...

A busy weekend started on Saturday morning when Miss C did her first Koman Race for the Cure with Daddy and Yia-Yia. Decked out in her new pink outfit Yia-Yia got her for the big event she spent the morning cruising around downtown in her stroller wooing old ladies out of their pink balloons while demanding Dad stop so she could pet every dog she passed.

Then after a quick nap it was out to Aunt Niki and Uncle Adam's for a swim and to watch the USA/England game. (World Cup to those in SW MO who could care less about soccer...it all that's been on at our house for 3 days now....)

Brunch and a few errands and the weekend concluded Sunday with some pretty aggressive napping by Chaney, Mom and Dad.

I had a request from Odom (a friend in Alabama) to send her a "picture of my belly"....so I thought I would post here so everyone could appreciate the belly of a 5'4" woman carrying an 8.5lb baby. I also post this picture, which is clear violation of the "no pictures" Executive Order I issued in 2009, to show Jabet what a real baby bump looks like. (I have received a couple of pictures of her, my 6' tall pregnant cousin, with what looks to be a small nerf ball tucked under her shirt..palease....)

I am also excited to share with everyone that the Werner's are now a 5 stroller family. Yes, we just purchased our 5th stroller in about 12 months...gesh.

Doctor said all looked great this morning...Keaton will be here in less than two weeks!

Mom had an early meeting this morning so Dad was on deck to get C ready and out the door to Miss Lucy's. He did a fabulous job, as always...but looks like he changed her out of her pjs into another pair thinking it was a cute piggy outfit. Oh well, who hasn't showered and put back on a clean pair of pj's for the day...

Chaney's First Birthday!
